TO THE FLAME - Helen Glavin
ANIMAL MEMORY
In a cave the figures dance
Round the fire in a trance
Beast and bird and skin and bone
Moving pictures turned to stone
In a forest long ago
You traced my footprints in the snow
Winter spent beneath the ground
Breathing in without a sound
We were there both you and I
We learned to hunt we learnt to fly
But the secrets of the earth and sea
Are hidden in our memory
Came the waters of the flood
We were chosen by our blood
So we went in two by two
Crossed the ocean start anew
In a cave the figures dance
Round the fire in a trance
Beast and bird and skin and bone
Moving pictures turned to stone
Ask the leopard or the lamb
Will they tell me who I am?
Wolves and horses running wild
In the dreams of every child

TO THE FLAME
We are strangers in a room
But we do not stand alone
In this moment we all are brave
Feel my soul dancing home
Make a lover or a friend
Be a mother or a child
Open up my heart to love
Being free running wild
Through the fire to the flame
Will there be a special one
On the earth our bodies move
Burning up like the sun
Gentle touch of angel wings
Let the water wash our tears
Holding hands across the world
Breathing out all our fears
We are strangers in a room
But we do not stand alone
On the earth our bodies move
Feel my soul dancing home
Feel my soul dancing home
Feel my soul dancing home
Feel my soul dancing home

ANGEL OF PEACE
Angel of peace
Angel of mercy
Angel of light
Be near me, be near me
And spread your wings
And spread your wings
And spread your wings
Around the world tonight
Angel of peace
Angel of mercy
Angel of light
Be near me, be near me

INTO THE LIGHT - Helen Glavin
INTO THE LIGHT
Falling angel from the skies
Smiling, knowing with your eyes
Down down in the valley
Resting for the night
Silver shadows cross the moon
Precious moments gone so soon
Down down in the valley
Rising with the dawn
Into the light, into the light
Into the light, into the light
Hear the ocean in a shell
Know that people wish you well
Down down in the valley
Resting for the night
Try forgiveness
Try for thee
So beloved blessings be
Down down in the valley
Rising with the dawn

CHERISH YOUR LOVE
Lay your head on the pillow of love’s sweet devotion
Lay your head and ease a troubled mind
Go seek and you will find
I pray I pray
I pray you will lay your hands
You touch me with such sweet revelation
Lay your hands in the darkest hour of night
To see your guiding light
I pray I pray to cherish your love
Cherish your Love

CHILD OF THE OCEAN
Over the mountain
Under the sea
Child of the ocean
Playful and free
Dancing with sunlight
Out in the bay
Where do you come from?
Don’t go away
Everlasting smile, everlasting
Evertrusting smile, evertrusting
I hear a calling
Is it your song?
So many follow
Now we belong

LITTLE MOUNTAIN SPRING
It can be a hard journey
Rocky road along the way
It can make your heart lonely
You can’t find the words to say
Liberty
There was always a price to pay
Pity me
You who look the other way
Can’t you see
It’s the same sad story
Running through a dry valley
There’s a little mountain spring
It can bring you cool water
It can make your spirit sing
It can be a good journey
If we find a better way
Don’t wait for the rainy season
Why don’t we begin today?
Wait for me
And the ones who’ve fallen on the road
Patiently - some just have a heavy load
Tenderly - for the broken hearted.

FALLING DOWN
I never learned the things you teach
I never practise the things you preach
Looking at the sky so far from home
I keep falling down, falling down
Where are the people sometime did me seek
They saw me losing they saw me weak
Tried forgiveness but I am falling down
Falling down, I am falling down
Out in the desert, across the plain
I never heard you when you called my name
Looking at the sky so far from home
I am falling down, falling down
A faded picture, a broken comb
Words softly spoken not set in stone
Sweet mother memory my lucky charm
Says God bless you, God keep you from harm.

CELTIC HEART
Mother earth, brother son
And every daughter of the moon
Father where are you?
I seek you within the room
In the shelter of the forest
Mist is rising from the ground
And I look deep into the lake
See the emerald shine
And feel my soul awake
The dogs can howl
The wind can bite
And trouble tear you apart
But love is strong
And lives forever
In a Celtic heart

LET THE EARTH BE STRONG
The night was long
Now the dawn is breaking
The moon shone full and bright
Let the Earth be strong
The sea is calm
And the sky is golden
The clouds reveal the sun
And the tide flows on
The wind is light
Now the trees are swaying
My memory is here with you
Let the dance go on
The day is born
And our hearts have woken
Together our voices cry
Let the Earth be Strong
